Yeah, these houses really take “shell” to a whole new level…
(Across the street from my bus stop, near the intersection of New Jersey Ave. and P St.)
Though I wonder if there’s some work being done, because that pile of dirt is new…

The Armstrong Manual Training School/Adult Education Center on P Street between 1st and 3rd. Looks pretty much abandoned, but the past couple of days when I’ve walked by, there have been people who look like they’re working on/in the building. Any one happen to know what’s up? It’s a really cool old building!

Sorry I’ve been kind of quiet recently.
I think this photo pretty much speaks for itself.

Meet Lizzie. She is the older and thus more dignified of my two cats (unless she’s trying to stop or change direction while running on the wood floors!)
Sorry no neighborhood or DC pictures today…it’s too bloody hot to spend any more time outside than I absolutely need to, so I haven’t been doing any poking around to things to photograph. But it’s supposed to cool down this weekend!

So one day on my way to work last week I counted not one, not two, but FOUR mattresses on the sidewalks. And three of them were all within about two blocks of my house. Including this wonderful mattress + assorted junk that had appeared the previous day.
And one of those four mattresses is still laying on the sidewalk on 1st Street as of this morning.
I just don’t even understand.

I really enjoy this sign that I see every day on my walk to and from the bus stop. “Place Order Here” in the middle of an empty lot. I wonder what it used to be?

I’m impressed. The couch that I posted about a while back is actually gone! *gasp* I totally expected it to be sitting there rotting until the end of time.
I am pleasantly surprised. (Though the weed garden is less than awesome)

Yes, this is now the second photo I’ve posted of Max, while I have yet to post a single picture of my other cat, Lizzie. But black cats are damn hard to photograph! (And besides, Lizzie is a little bit older and thus more graceful and dignified than Max-the-overgrown-kitten…fewer funny photo opportunities!)

I knew my block was missing something!
(The sad thing is that it looks like a pretty nice couch except for the missing cushions…and the fact that I think it’s been rained on at least once since I took the picture…)

And this is why there are now two houses on my block that have an asking price of $750,000. *boggles*
